After 3 years of living in Brazil, I can finally say that my Portuguese is getting better. Or as I’d like to say, “médio,” or medium in English. Sure, learning any new language is hard. But I gotta tell ya, Brazilian Portuguese must be up there with Mandarin. For starters, there are no rules. No little tricks here and there to bridge certain concepts to others. No shortcuts. But that ain’t even the half of it. Because I swear half the language is just slang expressions. Take the word “tank top,” for example… Tomara que caia Which literally translates to… “I hope it falls.” But when you try Googling that shiznit, ol’ Google says the translation is just “top.” Beep, wrong answer, Google. So it’s safe to say I have to make an ass outta myself just to get around town. However, there’s been one trick that’s helped me turn the dial from “broken gringo Portuguese” to “médio”: Immersion. I’ve been on a strict diet of only Brazilian music, watching weird pop culture podcasts with my GF, and, of course, getting sauced on the beach with the homies. Heck, I look at every person here as an opportunity to train my brain. Even the local bums who have no teeth (who’ve oddly enough become homies I get sauced with on the beach lmao). Now, if you think this email is about learning a different language, then… YOU’RE WRONG. Because this email is all about the holy word mentioned above: immersion. The greatest business owners immerse themselves in their customers’ world. Take Brian Chesky, the founder of Airbnb. When Airbnb was struggling to get off the ground, Brian didn’t sit behind his laptop brainstorming ways to grow the business. Brian flew to New York. Knocked on his customers’ doors. Photographed their apartments. And did what so many people fear nowadays… talked to his customers. This immersive practice gave Brian a snazzy revelation… Many of his hosts weren’t renting out their homes to make a little extra spending money. They needed the money to pay their rent. Big difference, am I right? And it’s the kind of insight you won’t find staring at a spreadsheet or asking ChatGPT to describe your ideal customer. You have to get your hands dirty. Because the closer you get to your customers, the easier it becomes to understand what makes them buy. That’s immersion, yo. Ciao, Parker https://useironpeak.com/ |

One of the glaring weaknesses of our agency was cold calling. I tried calling, and frankly, I sucked hockey pucks. For starters, I didn’t have time. I also didn’t have the skills, scripts, or persuasive wordsmithing to sell via dialing. At first, this wasn’t a problem… But after growing like wildfire and building a database of hundreds of lost leads (people who responded positively but never replied afterward), we knew this had to be fixed. There was just too much money on the table. But not...
Great things come to those who ask. Meaning? If you keep your mouth shut, don’t let anyone know what your business does or who it helps, then you’re probably missing out on one of the greatest lead generation channels of all time: Referrals. Let me explain… Every week, I’m booking 3–5 sales calls from referrals alone. And every time a call is booked, I’m left baffled. Because I finally feel like the popular kid in school, right? Haha, last time I checked, people with neck tattoos can’t be...
I struggled for 5 years to build a thriving online business. I’ve tried everything from: Blogging, podcasting, YouTubing, ghostwriting, info products, and currently, done-for-you email, funnel, and launch services. Each business has been more successful than the last. But I’ve never had a business grow as fast as the cold email agency I started. Take a look at the revenue growth month over month: August: 136.5% growth September: 297% growth October: 68.9% projected growth Enter the growing...
