How to build a world-class referral network

Great things come to those who ask. Meaning? If you keep your mouth shut, don’t let anyone know what your business does or who it helps, then you’re probably missing out on one of the greatest lead generation channels of all time: Referrals. Let me explain… Every week, I’m booking 3–5 sales calls from referrals alone. And every time a call is booked, I’m left baffled. Because I finally feel like the popular kid in school, right? Haha, last time I checked, people with neck tattoos can’t be popular. OK, sorry, got a little sidetracked there... What I meant was that I’m baffled that the seeds I planted a year ago are bearing so much fruit. I did a funny little exercise where every day, when I woke up, the first thing I would do was message family, friends, social media followers, email contacts, every human connection I’ve ever made, and:
I wouldn’t do anything else until I reached out to 10 people first thing! And this worked like a charm, right? Nope. In fact, for the first 30 days, I thought this was stewpid. I literally didn’t get any referrals despite my efforts. Sad. But fast-forward a year, and I’ve literally exhausted my network asking for referrals, and every week I’m getting 3–5 referrals. Happy. I didn’t realize how long it would take to build a referral network, but looking back, it’s as simple as making pancakes. Now let me address the question you may be asking… How much is the referral fee? Well, I’m glad you asked. We offer 10% of every lead payment generated for 90 days. Meaning we charge $150 per lead. So if someone you refer to us pays us $150, you get $15. Now here’s where things get a little spicy. Our best clients get 10 leads a day. Which is $1,500.
