Everyone needs an email list. But how can you build one fast with people who are willing to buy? I made a list for you… 1. Social media Decide whether you prefer writing or video content. Pick a platform and start posting every day on that platform. Let the post sit for about an hour… Then plug the link to your email optin page as a comment under the post. Currently, I’m getting great traffic from LinkedIn with this strategy. This post got me 20 new subscribers yesterday. 2. List swaps Find people with similar lists to yours. And trade lead magnets. You write an email promoting the other person's list, and they do the same for you. This is a great way to get active and engaged readers onto your list. Use this script to reach out to people. 3. YouTube I’m working on getting this set up. From what I’ve heard from friends, 100 views = 10 subs. Even better? YouTube content lives forever. Once that video is live it lives forever, unlike other pieces of content that die after 24-48 hours. Post a video, plug a link to your optin page and lead magnet below. My friend Ed Lawrence is making millions of dollars with this strategy. 4. Podcasts Podcasts are a double edged sword. Some podcasts that I’ve guested on earned me a dozen new customers once they’re published. But most have gotten me zero traffic. Do your homework and make sure there are 100 episodes published. Whenever I’m asked to join a podcast I ask for the name of it first. The funny part? Most of the people don’t respond to that question. Time saved. Shout out your website at the end of each episode. This episode got the most sales for my business 5. Live events Sam Parr blew up the Hustle Newsletter by hosting live events like Hustle Con. This isn’t for the faint of heart, because it’s expensive and takes a lot of time and energy to set up. But my business partner Levi Lomey, is making a killing hosting live events for startups. If you’ve got the funds and the energy, live events can take your list from zero to 1000 fast. 6. Webinars Host free webinars where you overdeliver on value. Have people sign up to the webinar using their email. If you have a product or service, you can pitch it at the end of the webinar. 7. Affiliates Ask people to promote your products. In turn you give them a commission for each sale. Not only are you getting more sales, but you’re getting customers from other peoples lists. It’s like a triple win.
8. Paid ads Paid ads are tough. You’ve got to spend money, just for the algorithm to learn. But with the right funnels, creativity, and skills, you can make a profit by converting highly qualified people to your list. And the ad does the work for you. Unlike social media where you have to post and comment all the time, only to get unqualified people on your list. Paid ads do the work for you and get people willing to buy your stuff on your email fast. Here's my hilarious taco suit ad that is ripping it 9. Newsletter sponsorships. You can pay to have your lead magnet featured in lists bigger than your own. Be careful though. Some peoples email lists are huge, they charge a lot of money for a sponsorship, but none of their readers are willing and capable of buying. Focus on newsletter don’t use AI writing, vague summaries, and have multiple assets that they sell. 10. Outreach Dm 20 people a day on social media. Compliment them on a post and offer your free lead magnet. This takes time, but it turns traffic from cold to warm instantly because you’re personally reaching out and contacting them. Use this script for outreach 11. SEO Traffic here has been strange because of Google’s AI summaries. But if you crack AI SEO, then your blogs can get traffic for you. These are a lot like YouTube videos. One good blog post can get you traffic forever. 12. Sparkloop This is Kit’s paid ad feature. I’ve tried this 3 times with different strategies but not one of these people ever became a customer. Unlike paid ads, you can’t set up front end funnels. So you’ll always lose money on the front end, without breaking even there you’ll rarely recoup your spend. 13. Guest posts Ask bloggers or email list owners if you can write a guest post for them. In exchange for promoting your email list. 14. Give aways. Give away your lead magnet on social media. Simply tell people “Hey I have a free gift for you. Comment and I’ll Dm it to you.” You use automations like ManyChat that automatically sends the comment a link to your optin page. 15. Referrals The Morning Brew scaled to an insane number of subscribers with referrals. If someones recommends your email list to a number of subscribers they get a reward: Refer 1 sub: Get a hat You get the deal. Hope that helps. Catch ya soon, -Parker |
