Woo woo nonsense that isn't woo woo

It’s funny how you can dream of accomplishing a goal for years.

And when you finally accomplish that goal, it doesn’t always feel the way you dreamed it would.

Because the person you had to become to accomplish that goal eventually has to shed some skin and become a different person to reach the next one.

It’s weird, uncomfy, and makes you question your decisions (like getting a neck tattoo).

You see, after years of battle, I’ve accomplished my goal of having enough MRR to replace my salary as a superintendent in electrical construction.

And not just a “one-off” great month that beats my salary. Consistent payments that beat that salary.

Now, this might seem like a flex, but trust me, it’s not.

It took me five years to do this, while some 20-year-olds accomplish it in a matter of months. My journals are loaded with the boneheaded mistakes I made.

Anyway, the point is the “identity shift” I had to make to get to this point.

But if you’re like me, the phrase “identity shift” makes your soul puke and gives you flashbacks of self-help books that all say the same nonsense.

It's "woo woo", but then again maybe not.

However, it’s important to reflect on who you have to become to accomplish your goals.

For me:

- Electrician > writer
- Twitter slob > full-stack marketer
- Full-time traveler > never leave my house

Now, this identity shift has helped me get where I’ve wanted to be for so long. But it’s created a bottleneck as I pursue my next goals…

I can no longer be just a writer. I have to be a strategist, decision-maker, and business owner.

That’s easier said than done.

But by zooming in on the “shifts” you have to make in yourself, you’ll understand the little things you have to do day by day to accomplish the big-picture stuff you dream of.

Okay, that’s all I’ve got for today.

Catch ya soon,

Parker

Can I ask you a question? Ok sure, that might've been a question by itself, so I'll ask you another question… Do you actually read AI writing? Like when you check your inbox, do you open the email, see that it's boring, loaded with words that have no depth behind them, try to read through the lack of flow from sentence to sentence… …and think: "wow, that was a novel concept" If you're like me, and billions of other human beings, the answer is no. As soon as I get a scent of em dashes, no x,...

If I had to pick one entrepreneur's advice to listen to for the rest of my career, it would be Tim Ferriss's. More specifically, it would be this one question Tim has asked himself time and time again whenever he's feeling stuck: "What if I did the opposite for 48 hours?" You see, my biz partner and I have built a cold email infrastructure that can send 600k - 800k emails a month for ourselves…and for our clients. Now let me be clear… There are others sending millions a month, and volume...

Last week I sent an email and published social media content saying that I was hiring. What was supposed to be a way for me to hire the best candidates (which I did btw, in case you applied), turned into a lesson about human behavior. In case you missed it… I shared publicly that I was hiring a copywriter. However, there was a test with various instructions to make sure: You could listen and follow instructions You knew how to "think" like a marketer You knew how to write without Claude slop....
