I'D NEVER FELT SO ALIVE

If I had to pick one entrepreneur's advice to listen to for the rest of my career, it would be Tim Ferriss's.

More specifically, it would be this one question Tim has asked himself time and time again whenever he's feeling stuck:

"What if I did the opposite for 48 hours?"

You see, my biz partner and I have built a cold email infrastructure that can send 600k - 800k emails a month for ourselves…and for our clients.

Now let me be clear…

There are others sending millions a month, and volume doesn't exactly mean cash, ya dig?

The secret to making cold email work is understanding:

  1. TAM (total addressable market)
  2. Sophistication (this is the big one)
  3. Offers

But most importantly, who is that person on the other side of the screen.

Anyway, speaking of sophistication, this plays the biggest role in whether your campaigns will convert or not. My biz partner and I are in a lot of paid cold email communities and programs to keep our fingers on the pulse of the game.

And what I see everyone saying is this:

  1. Go after B2B SaaS
  2. M&E is so hawt right now
  3. CFOs and private lending are the balls, so easy to convert

So like a crowd of buffalos running off a cliff, all of these folks blast cold emails to these poor port markets.

My partner and I avoided this though, right?

And the survey says…beep, WRONG.

We thought we'd just pump volume to those poor people...the one who sends the most emails wins…well, not exactly. Because after cranking campaigns to these folks we got…crickets.

Even worse than crickets actually....

We were just left with the silence of doubt in our heads playing pong off the walls in our empty craniums!

So we went back to the drawing board…

But we asked ourselves the question I opened this email with:

"What if we did the opposite for 48 hours?"

Of course, asking yourself this question will create some head-scratching moments…but that's when we came up with this:

"What if we just emailed markets who aren't getting emails?"

And at the snap of a finger we were off to the races, researching, digging for the perfect market to cold email.

Then we had it!

Commercial cleaning lmao.

Who would've thought?

After investigating, we've found that this market is extremely underserved. Owners know they need help with lead generation, because they wear too many hats.

But when we sent our first cold email campaign to this market, I felt like I put a fork in the ol' 120v outlet…

BECAUSE I'D NEVER FELT SO ALIVE.

In the first 10 minutes positive replies started rolling in. I had to answer questions, schedule meetings and calls, send Loom walkthroughs explaining how our services work.

Now this campaign started last week, and typically we have 2-3 calls before we close.

But I'll keep ya posted.

Take some time today, and ask yourself: "What if I did the opposite for 48 hours?" Because the breakthrough you so desperately need may be on the other side of that question.

Parker

Like when you check your inbox, do you open the email, see that it's boring, loaded with words that have no depth behind them, try to read through the lack of flow from sentence to sentence… …and think: "wow, that was a novel concept" If you're like me, and billions of other human beings, the answer is no. Last week I sent an email and published social media content saying that I was hiring. What was supposed to be a way for me to hire the best candidates (which I did btw, in case you applied), turned into a lesson about human behavior.
