Stop bringing AI slop to the fight

This pisses me off

Today, I'm going to teach something that should be obvious…

…But then again maybe it’s not.

If you take what I’m about to teach you, and apply it to your life, you can dang near guarantee that you will have fulfilling relationships on and off the business court.

That said…

I’ve been getting an overwhelming amount of outreach. From people who practically begging to get access to my audience, network, and list. Don’t get me wrong, I love networking.

Win-win situations are how the pyramids were built (or something like that haha).

But 99% of these folks have no idea how negotiation, business, and relationships work. Because they’re often crawling on the floor begging me to promote their apps, products, or whatever nonsense…with nothing in return.

Sure this may sound mean or hostile.

But it’s not.

You should never beg someone to give you something for free, especially when it’s access to an audience, network, or list that’s taking years to develop.

Yeah buddy, let me work my ass off for 5 years, and give you access free of charge.

But selfish buffoonery isn’t the biggest problem.

The biggest problem is these messages are all AI slop:

“That’s the most memorable credibility statement I’ve read this month”

Clearly you didn’t read it, because you used AI to write this lmfao.

Not only are the folks desperately begging, they aren’t even using their brains. FUN FACT: I don’t read AI slop. Especially when that slop is a one sided pitch to take advantage of my hard earned work and relationships.

Do you see how bad this behavior is?

This is what I see when I open these emails:

Now I’m not going to be like other marketers, whine, complain, and then tell you to buy something. I’m going to tell you how to get access to audiences much larger than yours. Without looking like the meme above…

The warm up.

Before I go and squat 250lbs, I make sure to do a little stretching. To avoid injury of course.

The same goes for you and outreach

You gotta warm them up, or else you’ll be injured by good ol’ fashioned rejection. What I do is read these people’s emails.

Then I simply just reply, often with a mindless and stupid remark haha:

The goal here is just to get a reply, and warm up your relationship. You want the prospect to know that you exist.

Provide a gift.

I read the emails like a hawk spotting a wounded squirrel (ok just kidding I love squirrels).

But you want to find flaws in the prospects' emails that you can easily fix. For example, if you notice the prospect sent a shitty email saying:

“Hey buy my stuff”

All ya gotta do is follow up with a lead magnet.

I use lead magnets, as free gifts of value, for my prospects. Again I’m not asking anything in return, I’m just providing a lead magnet (think of it as a helpful free gift). My lead magnet is a swipe file of a launch campaign, or email templates.

So I’d follow up with this off the cuff script:

“Hey dude,

Loving this email about [specific topic].

Especially [more in depth about the email]

I’ve recently helped a client get [specific result] with [lead magnet].

Cool if I send them over?

I think they’ll be a big help.”

The replies (often from people with HUGE businesses) are great, happy, and thankful.

The goal here is to overwhelm with value. Oftentimes I get this as a reply:

Now you’ll notice this is a social media reply. The prospect literally got my lead magnet, then looked me up via Google Search. Looked at my social media profile and pinged me.

When you send someone values like this, their attention shifts towards figuring out who you are, and if you can help them.

The offer

Sometimes, I’ll literally send 2-3 lead magnets. I don’t do this everyday to the same prospect. But I aim for at least once a week.

The response eventually turns into:

If they don’t ask for a call, I just send emails back and forth.

Then pitch call after.

The success rate is hard to measure. If I had to guess it’d be around 75%.

But simply by overwhelming people with value I attract them to getting on a call with me.

It gets better…

Because the 25% that decline aren’t lost. They often circle back with me after 3-6 months outta the blue.

That's all I got for now...

Enjoy your weekend,

-Parker
