On the surface things were great: •Living in and out of hotels. Except it sucked. Because I wasn't free. I was just trading one boss for another, one war zone for the next. Not to mention the malaria... Anyway... ...That's when I read the 4-Hour Workweek. I'll never forget the switch this book flipped in my mind... Online business = location freedom. I'd found a new obsession. I had to figure out a way to create digital income so I'd never have to work somewhere I didn't want to. And for a boss I didn't like... ...My head swam with thoughts about living in Bali. Sand between my toes, sunsets, and wild drug fueled orgies never left my mind (ok maybe not the last part). So I did want most beginner entrepreneurs do.. I built first and asked questions later. Which resulted in... ...Spending 4 years building a blog and podcast for electricians. I followed all the "guru" advice like "the riches are in the niches". But here’s the big idea nobody told me back then: You need to know exactly what sells before you build it. Otherwise? You’re begging to waste time and money. Turns out? Nobody wanted my content (surprise). Most electricians don't read. And the electricians that do read, sure as hell don't read blogs. Before I knew it... I sacrificed weekends, family time, and dating for four years. I chased a "dream" that was never real. I would build, launch, then flop. On repeat. At my lowest point, I realized the problem wasn’t my motivation. It was my method. I’d never once asked the market if they actually wanted what I was building. The result?
