It’s hard to beat email marketing when looking for a lifestyle business. You can play with your kids and work whenever you want. And the better you get... ...The more money you can make (even if you're sleeping). But here’s the important question: Do you know how to monetize an email list? I'm here to share how I use an email list to make a living. Follow these steps to do the same: 1. Validating ideas This simple step lets your subscribers tell you what to sell... ...I’ve built an entire course around validation so I’m not going to go into a lot of detail here. But when you send emails everyday. Your subscribers will reply with questions or problems. They'll hand you product ideas on a silver platter. If many people keep asking about the same issue, congratulations. You've found a problem worth solving. 2. List swaps The laziest way to grow your list and get paid? Look I'm skeptical of anything that comes easy in business in life. Oftentimes, these tricks are too good to be true. Growing your email list is hard as well. Unless you use the proven marketing shortcut: Find someone with a similar-sized list. You promote their email list, and they promote your own. You gain subscribers. And your swap buddy gets subscribers as well. Two birds, one stone: More subscribers and more sales. It's like neighbor kids swapping lunches, except you both end up with more food somehow. 3. Welcome sequences/autoresponders. This is the closest way to get passive income online. Someone signs up for your email. Then, they automatically get emails every day for as long you schedule them. Example? I have a 20-day email welcome sequence. So for 20 days after someone signs up for my email list they will get pitched my offers. Remember: People need to see your offer about 7 times before buying. A welcome sequence does this for you. It works while you're busy, sleeping, or even drunk-texting your ex at 2 AM. 4. Anniversary sequences. This is another nifty automation. Every year someone is subscribed to my list. It triggers the "anniversary sequence." Which sends an email thanking the person for being on my list. Then offer a discount coaching call. I literally forget this exists until I start getting coaching calls out of nowhere. Money appeared, and I didn't even have to put on pants that day. 5. High-ticket offers. When a client disappears or I need extra cash, I send one email to my list. I offer my copywriting services. I use the same email over and over. (This will be a template in my Email 365 course). Chew on this: Instead of having to reach out to thousands of people on social media via DMs. Or posting an offer pitch to 75,000 followers (and only have 1,500 people see it). Email let's me send this one offer to 8,600 people. Cut that number in half because of open rates and deliverability. But basically I get to ask 4,000 people at the same time if they're looking for my services. The responses? I'll get dozens of new client inquiries. Then I just choose who the best fit is. It's way better than begging for clients on Instagram. There, the algorithm decides who sees your post. 6. Affiliates. Don't have your own product? No problem. Sell someone else's and take 50% of the money. Software affiliates are great. You earn money monthly as long as the customer stays subscribed. People buy mansions with this strategy. I'm not even exaggerating. 7. Sunny side up funnel. When someone signs up for my lead magnet. They immediately go to a sales page where I offer a $7 and a $27 product. If they buy one of those products. Then they go to another sales page that offers a $97 product. So while I sleep. People find my email link. Subscribe. They get a chance to buy my products. The more traffic I get to sign up to my email, the more customer's I get. But traffic is a topic for another time. 8. Launches I offer a product for just one week. Then it's gone. This creates urgency. It prompts people to buy instead of waiting forever. Most of my profit comes from these launches. Provide value, talk to customers, send sales emails for a week, then count your money. Rinse and repeat. Here's the deal: I'm not special. In fact, most people from my childhood town call me dumbazz. I'm not some marketing genius. I just stopped doing what doesn't work and started doing what does. What about you? Are you ready to stop seeing your email list as a simple pen pal project?
